EnerSys Inc. (ENS) said affiliates of its largest shareholder, Metalmark Capital LLC, agreed to sell their entire stake of 2.85 million shares in the industrial battery maker to Goldman Sachs & Co. (GS) at market prices.
The sales, by Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Capital Partners IV LP and MSDW IV 892 Investors LP, represent 5.6% of the company, worth $107.6 million at Monday's closing price of $37.82.
The company's fiscal third-quarter profit came in higher than expected last week after it reported higher world-wide sales due to volume and pricing gains.
Shares were inactive premarket and are up 70% in the past year.
