U.S. Hot Stocks: Hot Stocks to Watch

Among the companies with shares expected to actively trade in Monday's session are Dollar General Corp. (DG), Family Dollar Stores Inc. (FDO) and JinkoSolar Holding Co. (JKS).

Dollar General made an $8.95 billion counterbid on Monday for rival Family Dollar, topping the offer made three weeks ago by Dollar Tree Inc. (DLTR). Shares of Family Dollar climbed 4.9% premarket, while shares of Dollar General jumped 10.6% premarket. Shares of Dollar Tree fell 1.5% premarket.

JinkoSolar said its second-quarter earnings surged, marking the Chinese solar-product maker's fifth-straight quarter of profit as shipments of solar products increased sharply. Shares rose 1.4% premarket.

China Mobile Games and Entertainment Group Ltd. (CMGE) said it swung to a profit in the second quarter as its revenue more than tripled from a year earlier. Shares jumped 8.9% premarket.

Fabrinet (FN) said its Audit Committee began an internal investigation in the latest quarter into certain accounting issues that were discovered by management, and as a result is postponing its fourth-quarter and fiscal-year earnings release. It has notified the Securities and Exchange Commission of the internal investigation. Shares fell 18% premarket.

 
   Watch List: 

Community Health Systems Inc. (CYH) said its computer network was a target of an external criminal cyberattack in April and June that affected data related to some 4.5 million individuals. The company said it is notifying affected patients and would offer them identity-theft protection services. Shares were inactive premarket.

Ingersoll-Rand PLC (IR) said it will acquire the assets of Cameron International Corp.'s Centrifugal Compression division for $850 million, in an effort to expand its portfolio of compression products and services. Shares were inactive premarket.

 
   Barron's Watch List: 

Shares of oilfield services company Schlumberger Ltd. (SLB) could reach $145, a gain of more than 30% from recent levels, according to a report in Barron's, which cited factors including recent acquisitions and cost-control efforts. Shares rose 1.8% premarket.
