Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said Wednesday that flaring activity at its Memphis, Tenn., refinery was not tied to any issues that impacted output. The plant reported equipment failure to the National Response Center late Tuesday.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said Monday that it begins to restart the Aruba refinery it shut down in July 2009 within several days after completing a turnaround. The plant will use liquefied natural gas to reduce its utility costs.
Tesoro Corp. (TSO) expects its Golden Eagle refinery in the San Francisco area to return to normal operating rates by Tuesday after experiencing a power outage last week, a company spokesman said Monday.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) reported that an emissions event will begin Tuesday evening at its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery related to planned maintenance activity, according to a filing with state environmental regulators. Work will be done at Unit no. 47 at Complex 1 of the West plant. Emissions will last two days.
A key gasoline-making unit at the Hovensa refinery operated by Hess Corp. (HES) in St. Croix went offline Thursday for unplanned repairs lasting about 10-14 days, according to a person familiar with the refinery's operations. Hess declined to provide details, only to say it would be restarted "as soon as the necessary repairs are completed," spokesman Alex Moorhead said.
