The start-up of a processing unit at PBF Energy's oil refinery in Delaware City, Del., was interrupted on May 28 when a release of hydrogen sulfide went through a flare stack during the process, according to a filing to the U.S. National Response Center. The 190,000-barrel-a-day plant remains on track to start-up in the 2nd-quarter.
Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) on May 29 said a process unit restart at it's Joliet refinery in Illinois caused a release of nitrogen dioxide to a flare stack. The company reported the event to the U.S. National Response Center. Traders doing business in the region said the plant's FCCU had been down for repairs.
