LyondellBasell (LYB, LYB.B) Monday reported emissions associated with an operations upset at its Houston, Texas, refinery, citing the FCCU as a source of the release.
Exxon Mobil (XOM) Monday said planned turnaround maintenance at its Beaumont, Texas, refinery is ongoing. The primary units involved in the turnaround that began on about September 28 are a hydrocracker and a catalytic reformer Dow Jones Newswires reported at that time.
ConocoPhillips (COP) Monday reported an emissions event at its Sweeny, Texas, refinery owing to an upset at Unit 27 which was previously identified as an FCCU. Adjustments were made to bring the unit back into compliance, the co. said in a filing to environmental regulators.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) Monday reported the scheduled startup of units affected Sunday by unplanned maintenance to repair a boiler water feed system in the West Plant section at its oil refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas, the company said.
Exxon Mobil said Monday a process unit was taken out of service on Friday as a precaution after a mechanical issue was discovered during startup following Wednesday's power failure. The unit was not identified and there is no restart estimate. Most of the other units affected by Wednesday's power outage have returned to service; one unit was in restart mode on Monday, the Co. said.
Total Petrochemicals USA (TOT) Friday experienced a release of sulfur dioxide owing to a Scot Unit air compressor shut down at its Port Arthur, Texas, oil refinery. Refinery personel were working to get the unit back on line, a filing to Texas environmental regulators said.
Motiva Enterprises (RDSA, RDSB) Saturday reported an emissions event at its Norco, La., refinery owing to equipment failure; no further details were provided in the filing to environmental regulators.
Valero Energy Friday said that a brief period of flaring at its Port Arthur, Texas, refinery was not associated with production units and had no impact on production.
Holly Corp. (HOC) Saturday reported a release of sulfur dioxide at its Tulsa, Oklahoma, oil refinery, but did not know what caused it, a filing to the U.S. National Response Center said.
Coffeyville Resources (CVI) Saturday reported an air release at its Coffeyville, Kansas, oil refinery, citing equipment failure as the cause of the incident. A report to the U.S. National Response Center listed sulfur recovery unit 3 as the affected equipment. Refinery technicians were working on the problem, but the operating status of sulfur recovery unit 3 was unclear.
