State below in reasonable detail why Forms 10-K, 20-F, 11-K, 10-Q, 10-D, N-SAR, N-CSR, or the transition report or portion thereof, could not be filed within the prescribed time period.

Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais—CEMIG (the “Company”) is unable to file its annual report on Form 20-F for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2022 (the “Form 20-F”) within the prescribed time period without unreasonable effort or expense because the Company requires additional time to complete its financial statement preparation and review process, including management’s assessment of the Company’s internal control over financial reporting. As a result, KPMG Auditores Independentes Ltda., the Company’s independent registered accounting firm, has not yet completed its audit procedures. The Company has been working to complete all the required information and anticipates filing the Form 20-F on or before May 16, 2023.
