BP PLC said Thursday that it has extended its partnership with Amazon.com Inc. over renewable energy in Europe.
The FTSE 100 oil giant said it will more than triple the renewable power that it used to supply to Amazon in the area, noting what it will also supply extra renewable energy to power Amazon's operations and web services.
This will enable the acceleration of BP's program to digitize its infrastructure and operations, the company said.
"Amazon is helping bp with innovative digital technologies and, using our trading capabilities and scale, we will give Amazon the reliable and flexible renewable energy supplies they need to meet their ambition to decarbonize," said William Lin, BP's executive vice president for regions, cities and solutions.
Shares at 1300 GMT were up 5.45 pence, or 2%, at 278.05 pence.
