As companies report good U.S. auto sales figures for August, the share price of several automotive component makers are rising in Thursday's market.
Among the gainers are American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. (AXL), whose shares are up 14.10%, to $7.20, with about 30 minutes left in the trading day; Lear Corp. (LEA), up 6.31% to $120.48; Dana Inc. (DAN), up 8.72% at $13.89; and Tenneco Inc. (TEN), up 17.22% to $10.28. Also seeing increases are BorgWarner Inc. (BWA), whose shares are up 5.9% to $35.17; Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. (GT), up 7.09% to $12.23; and Visteon Corp. (VC), up 9.32% to $76.35.
Shares of auto parts retailer O'Reilly Automotive Inc. (ORLY) are 2.01% higher, at $396.40. AutoZone Inc. (AZO) shares are up 1.12% to $1,135.32; Genuine Parts Co. (GPC), up 3.12% to $93.66; and Advance Auto Parts Inc. (AAP), up 3.09% to $146.27.
