The three broadcasters - TV3 of New Zealand, FOXTEL of Australia and LA7 of Italy - and the two other recently signed up clients - Pro Plus of Slovenia (part of the CME media group) and TV Cabo of Portugal - are expected to contribute approximately #1.5 million in upfront licence and implementation fees in the months ahead, along with additional recurring maintenance fees which will follow after installation. These clients represent the smaller size, but faster implementation projects that Pilat Media has been undertaking alongside some other much larger and longer projects with clients including Discovery International, Network Ten and Playboy TV. With these new clients, Pilat Media's clientele is now 27 broadcasters spread around the world, including free-to-air and Pay TV, analogue and digital, large and small. TV3 (part of the Canadian CanWest group) and FOXTEL (a News Corp company) increase Pilat Media's presence in the Pacific region to eight clients. TV3 will utilise the system to streamline and integrate its programme content, advertising sales and traffic management operations. FOXTEL is Australia's leading subscription television provider, servicing around one million homes via satellite and cable. FOXTEL plans to use the IBMS system to handle the forthcoming launch of their on-demand services. LA7, the Rome-based national terrestrial broadcaster owned by Telecom Italia, intends to utilise the content management modules of IBMS, and the implementation is managed by Accenture. Avi Engel, Chief Executive Officer of Pilat Media Global plc, said: "These contract wins are significant for the Company as they increase our presence in key markets. We have now become a market leader in New Zealand and Australia. IBMS integrates and streamlines broadcasters' programme content, ad sales and traffic management operations to increase business efficiency. IBMS enables broadcasters to lower operational costs, speed time to market for new revenue streams, and centralise management of key processes. It strengthens cross-departmental collaboration, improves client responsiveness and enables more informed business decisions in real time, creating strategic advantage and delivering a rapid return on investment. Pilat Media is a four-year old, 95-strong UK software company, now an independent public company following its successful demerger from Pilat Technologies International and floatation on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange early last year. The IBMS system was originally developed and successfully implemented by Pilat for BSkyB, to support their fast growing multi-channel programming needs. Pilat Media was established in 1999 to further develop and market the system as a generic product. IBMS's scope was subsequently more than doubled by adding the adverting sales functionality in partnership with Network Ten. Since then Pilat Media has rapidly established itself as a rising force in the market for business management software for broadcasters. Today, Pilat Media's software solutions have been selected by over 25 broadcasters around the world, most of which are outside its UK base. They represent a wide spectrum of operational/ business models, organisational size and transmission technologies - digital and analogue, on terrestrial, cable and satellite platforms. Clients, in addition to those mentioned above, include BSkyB (UK), five (UK), Fox Kids (Europe), digital media centre (Europe), TVNZ (New Zealand), Network Ten (Australia), Sky TechCo Partners (Latin America), Discovery Communications Inc. (International), National Geographic Channels International (USA), and Playboy Enterprises, Inc (USA).
