WEAR YELLOW, LIVE STRONG: Fashion Designers and the Lance
Armstrong Foundation host a Style.com Auction for Young People Living with
Cancer
NEW YORK, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Style.com and the Council of Fashion
Designers of America (CFDA) have joined forces with Lance Armstrong Foundation
(LAF) and brought together the best of the fashion design and luxury industries
-- who have donated one-of-a-kind and exclusive yellow (or yellow- accented)
products for an online auction that will take place on Style.com July 6th
through July 16th. All proceeds from the auction will benefit LAF programs,
which help young people with cancer live strong.

As a tribute to Lance Armstrong's inspirational fight against cancer, as well
as his historic attempt at a sixth Tour de France win, the Lance Armstrong
Foundation (LAF) and Nike launched the Wear Yellow Live Strong campaign last
month.
For Lance Armstrong, yellow is the color of hope, courage, inspiration and
perseverance -- as well as the color of the leader's jersey in the Tour de
France. Nike donated $1 million to the Foundation and is leading efforts to
raise a total of $6 million through the sale of yellow wristbands engraved with
Lance's mantra, Live Strong, as well as through a momentous auction that will
take place on Style.com.
Fashion designers who contributed items to the auction include Donna Karan,
Robert Lee Morris, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Narciso Rodriguez,
Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren. "The members of the CFDA are so pleased to be
supporting cancer survivors, the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the LIVE STRONG
initiative," said CFDA's Executive Director Peter D. Arnold of the auction.
"The money raised through the Wear Yellow Live Strong campaign will give us new
opportunities to provide leadership, resources and support for people,
especially young people, living with cancer," said Mitch Stoller, president and
C.E.O. of the LAF.
"There is no question why we partnered with Lance," said Candy Pratts Price,
Executive Fashion Director of Style.com. "His message of strength and survival
is contagious and we are better for it."
