Ripken Baseball Partners With Nike to Host Coaches' Clinic
Clinic to Be Held at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon 


BALTIMORE, Sept. 14  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ripken Baseball today announced
that it has partnered with Nike Baseball to host a unique coaches' clinic for
coaches, parents and baseball enthusiasts at the Nike World Headquarters in
Beaverton, Oregon on October 23, 2004.  The clinic will feature coaching
instruction from future Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr., 12-year major league
veteran Bill Ripken and former Oriole teammate and 11-year major league veteran
John Habyan.

This all-day event begins at 10:00 a.m. with an introduction to "The Ripken
Way" and will then move into specific instructional blocks regarding all
aspects of the game, including advanced practice planning and game preparation.

The cost is $149 per person and includes a Ripken Baseball Instructional CD-ROM
($40.00 retail value), a detailed manual and catered lunch. Group rates are
available.

Based on the teachings of the late Cal Ripken, Sr., the Ripken Baseball
coaching programs are designed for coaches and parents of all levels of play.
Many of the teachings and experiences that will be shared were utilized by both
Cal and Bill Ripken throughout their storied, big league careers. Their
foundation of success was taught to them by their father, Cal Ripken, Sr., who
played, coached and managed in professional baseball for 37 years.

Ripken Baseball was established in 1999 and its mission is to grow the game of
baseball worldwide, "The Ripken Way."  This is the third year that Ripken
Baseball has offered National Coaches' Clinics, having already held clinics in
Colorado, Virginia and Maryland.
