Nike Announces Presenting Sponsorship of 'The Relay' - a 199-Mile
Relay Race in the Bay Area
SAN FRANCISCO, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Nike announced its sponsorship
of The Relay, a 199-mile, twelve-member team run that begins in Calistoga and
ends in Santa Cruz, California. The Relay benefits organ donation through
Organs "R" Us and takes place over a two-day period on October 23rd and October
24th, 2004.

said Jeff Shapiro, Race Director of The Relay. "2004 is our 10th anniversary
and Nike has committed to helping us raise awareness of the 83,000 Americans
waiting for transplants."

The course includes a large number of tourist destinations and has 36 legs
(three legs per runner, (3-8.9 miles each) through 36 cities and across the
Golden Gate Bridge under a full moon.
