NYSSA’s 19th Annual Water Utilities Industry Conference

The New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA) will host the 19th Annual Water Utilities Industry Conference on December 3, 2015 at NYSSA headquarters. The conference will feature an industry outlook followed by management presentations profiling four publicly traded water utilities companies: Artesian Resources Corporation (NASDAQ:ARTNA); California Water Service Group (NYSE:CWT); Pure Cycle Corporation (NASDAQ:PCYO); and The York Water Company (NASDAQ:YORW). Richard A. Verdi, Senior Analyst - Water & Sustainable Infrastructure at Equity Research firm Ladenburg Thalmann & Co., Inc. will present the industry outlook.

A recent article from Mr. Verdi in NYSSA’s Financial Professionals’ Post blog cites a sobering statistic with long-term implications for water utilities investors: presently, 2.5 billion people, almost 40.0% of the world’s grain production, and approximately 25.0% of global GDP are at risk because of non‐sustainable water use, according to the University of Michigan, The USGS Water Science School, and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
