Delphix Adds Penny Herscher to Board of Directors

Delphix, the company accelerating innovation through DataOps, today announced the addition of Penny Herscher to its Board of Directors, effective August 2018. With deep experience in building and growing sustainable software companies, Penny will join a seasoned board to help usher in the next phase of the company’s growth.

“Penny has a wealth of experience helping companies grow quickly and accelerate true business transformation and I’m thrilled to add her to our board,” said Chris Cook, CEO of Delphix. “She will be instrumental in helping us extend our leadership position in the DataOps market, freeing more companies from the pain of data friction, and empowering them to accelerate application development in the location of their choice: on public, private or hybrid clouds.”

An experienced tech CEO, Penny has built a career helping innovative startups break through and become category leaders and disruptors. While at top electronic design automation (EDA) pioneer Synopsys, Penny helped the company establish itself as the category leader and took it through a highly successful public offering. Then, as CEO, she took her next company, Simplex Solutions, through a successful IPO and subsequently sold it to Cadence Design Systems. Following Simplex, Penny served as Chairman and CEO of artificial intelligence and analytics company, First Rain, until its later sale.  

Penny also brings over a decade of Board Director leadership to Delphix, which includes leading the Compensation Committees at tech pioneer Rambus. She was one of the founding board members of Lumentum as it spun out of JDSU to form the highly successful optical leader it is today. She currently sits on the boards of four publicly traded companies: Faurecia SA (EPA:EO), Verint (NASD:VRNT), PROS (NYSE: PRO), and Lumentum Operations LLC (NASD:LITE).

Herscher joins the Delphix board, which is comprised of seasoned executives and investors, including Jed Yueh (Executive Chairman), Chris Cook (Delphix CEO), Asheem Chandna (Greylock), and Chris Schaepe (Lightspeed Ventures). In addition, she will help play a key role in the development of the Delphix Advisory Board, which includes three-time CEO Betsy Atkins and ex-Accenture veteran Liz Tinkham.
