Visteon Supplies Advanced TFT Instrument Cluster on the New Jaguar XK

BASILDON, England, May 15  /PRNewswire/ -- Visteon Corporation (NYSE:VC) was selected by Jaguar to develop an advanced instrument cluster for the all- new Jaguar XK. The Visteon-designed instrument cluster delivers enhanced vehicle information through elegant styling.

This instrument cluster features an advanced high-resolution 3.8-inch color Quarter Video Graphics Array (QVGA) display based on thin-film transistor (TFT) technology. The large display allows Jaguar to differentiate its driver information interface through function, features and appearance.

The instrument cluster features white gauges with green backlighting. The high quality 256-color display is split into several zones to intuitively display information to the driver such as gear selection, cruise control information, open door warning, fuel level or tire pressure warning.

This technologically advanced cluster was developed by Visteon engineers based at Visteon's technical center of excellence for electronics in Basildon, United Kingdom.

Other Visteon technologies on the Jaguar XK include the starter control unit manufactured at Visteon's plant in Spain, the Satellite Radio System supplied from Mexico, and the complete cooling module, which is manufactured in the U.K.
