Visteon Names Sachin Lawande New CEO

Visteon Corp. has tapped Sachin Lawande to succeed Chief Executive Timothy Leuliette when he steps down June 29.

Visteon had said in March that Mr. Leuliette would leave the company by the end of the year.

Mr. Lawande, 48, was most recently president of Harman International Industries Inc.'s infotainment unit. He has also held positions at 3Com Corp. and QNX Software Systems.

Visteon Chairman Francis Scricco praised Mr. Lawande's experience in the electronics industry, which he said will be crucial as Visteon continues to move away from its traditional role as a multi-business auto supplier.

Mr. Leuliette became CEO in 2012 and helped reinvent Visteon as an electronics company, instead of its traditional role as a multi-business auto supplier.

Visteon, based in Van Buren Township, Mich., was founded by Ford Motor Co. and spun out of the auto maker in 2000. It filed for bankruptcy protection in May 2009 during the auto industry crisis but exited 16 months later.

Shares, inactive premarket, have been up about 3% this year through Tuesday's close.
