Visteon's innovative approach to automotive electronics resulted in key
industry innovations like MACH(R) VoiceLink, next-generation instrument
clusters and the first demonstration of an integrated OEM HD Radio(TM)
receiver.
Visteon MACH(R) Voice Link is being used by two companies to demonstrate robust
systems developed through business relationships with Visteon's electronics
team. Agilent Technologies will use the MACH(R) Voice Link module to establish
a wireless link with its new Bluetooth(R) Test Set. Visteon's technology will
be put through its paces using Agilent's new test routines, and Clarity
Technologies is supporting the technological leadership of the MACH(R) Voice
Link through its announcement that Clarity's award-winning noise suppression
software will be integrated into the hands-free enabling technology for future
production.
In addition, Visteon's electronic control expertise will be on display through
Freescale Semiconductor. This is part of the ARM Powered(R) MAC7100 family
that was designed in cooperation with Visteon to meet the growing demand for
32-bit microcontrollers that can offer high-performance processing. Visteon
will use this microcontroller in a next-generation instrument cluster panel for
future production on a vehicle featuring a sophisticated graphic interface.
Visteon clusters are being designed to provide drivers more information within
quick view, including features such as a graphically enhanced trip computer or
a repeater display for navigation products.
"We are proud of our contributions to the automotive electronics industry and
continue to invest in the rapid delivery of innovation," said Martin Thoone,
Visteon's director, electronics product line. "Visteon's focus is to develop
cost-effective innovations that will advance technology to improve performance
for the vehicles of today and tomorrow."
