First U-Haul Store in Richfield Emerging at Former Kmart

RICHFIELD, Utah, Sept. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul® is revealing details for its adaptive reuse of the former Kmart® building at 1080 S. Hwy. 118 in Richfield.

U-Haul Moving & Storage of Richfield is currently operating out of a temporary showroom and offering truck and trailer sharing, towing equipment and moving supplies. U-Haul acquired the 87,690-square-foot building on July 19.

Adaptive reuse of the property will render about 600 indoor self-storage units, giving customers access to climate-controlled rooms with high-tech security features at affordable price points. Acquisition of the property was driven by U-Haul Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul supports infill developments to help local communities lower their carbon footprint. Ling expects to employ at least 15 Team Members when the store is fully operational. U-Haul will look to hire locally to support job growth within the Richfield community.
