Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition.

On May 1, 2017, Span-America Medical Systems, Inc. ("SPAN") issued a press release announcing preliminary financial information for its second quarter of fiscal 2017 ended April 1, 2017.  The Company also reported that the Board of Directors declared a cash dividend of $0.16 per share payable on May 26, 2017, to shareholders of record on May 11, 2017.  The press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Form 8-K and is furnished to, but not filed with, the Commission.
