--Starbucks Corp. (SBUX) posted a letter apologizing to police officers in Tempe, Ariz., after an employee asked them to leave a store at the request of another customer, Reuters reported.
--The incident took place on July 4, the report said, adding that users of Twitter made comments in support of the police and tweeted a #boycottstarbucks hashtag.
--Rossann Williams, the company's EVP, president U.S. Retail, said in an apology posted on the company's website that the officers "were made to feel unwelcome and disrespected, which is completely unacceptable."
--The apology also said Starbucks will host "Coffee with a Cop" events to bring together residents and police offices to "discuss relevant issues and find common ground."
