LONDON--Ryanair Holdings PLC (RYA.LN) said Wednesday it has agreed to buy five more 737-800 series aircraft directly from Boeing Co. (BA), taking its order book to over $16 billion at current list prices.
The Irish low-cost airline said five of the new aircraft will be delivered in the summer of 2015, with the last one being delivered in February 2016.
Ryanair will now take 21 aircraft deliveries between September 2014 and July 2015, which will enable it to open more routes and additional frequencies on existing routes for summer 2015.
