Carnegie Mellon University and National Instruments to Share Insights on Successful Backup and Recovery Implementations SAN DIEGO, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Offering an inside look at successful backup and recovery solutions and the advantages of Overland Storage's REO SERIES(TM) and NEO SERIES(R), two Overland Storage (NASDAQ:OVRL) customers, Carnegie Mellon University and National Instruments, will present the results of their successful implementations to Storage Networking World Fall attendees on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005 in Orlando, Fla. From 3:05 to 3:50 p.m., Jonathan Woytek, computing manager for the National Robotics Engineering Consortium at Carnegie Mellon University, will highlight how Overland's NEO 4100 automated tape library and REO 4000 and REO 9000 disk-based backup and recovery appliances created an easily expandable solution to meet the Consortium's backup needs. The Consortium manages an average of 15 research projects simultaneously, each creating anywhere from a few hundred gigabytes to 12 terabytes of critical data. From 4:55 to 5:40 p.m., Jeffrey Mery, data center and enterprise storage manager, National Instruments, will discuss how the company, a leader in virtual instrumentation, increased its backup and recovery while lowering media costs.
