Nasdaq OMX Group, Inc. halted trading at one of its three options exchanges Friday due to a problem with a benchmark data feed that supplies options prices to traders, the exchange operator said in a notice to traders.
Trading in options on stocks with ticker symbols that begin with A through M was halted on the Nasdaq Options Market at 11:42 a.m. EST, the notice said. The halt was due to an issue with the Options Price Reporting Authority, or OPRA, an electronic pipeline delivering information on options trades and quotes to brokers and investors.
Trading would reopen at 12 p.m., a later notice said.
"NASDAQ OMX is working to ensure a prompt resolution of this matter with minimal market impact," a spokesman for Nasdaq said.
