GE HealthCare received 510k clearance from the Food and Drug Administration for its Portrait Mobile wireless and wearable monitoring technology.
The company said its Portrait Mobile platform enables real-time continuous monitoring with a personalized view of the patient's vitals during critical recovery periods, including after surgery or discharge from the intensive care unit.
GE Healthcare said Portrait Mobile can help clinicians recognize deterioration earlier than traditional spot check methods, which typically occur only every 4 to 6 hours.
