Commerce Bank/Harrisburg Becomes Metro Bank

Metro Bank, the new brand name of Commerce Bank/Harrisburg, is beginning to appear in Central Pennsylvania.

“The long-awaited launch of the Metro Bank brand is underway,” said bank Chairman, President and CEO Gary L. Nalbandian. “Our signs are changing, but our growth retail model and renowned focus on convenience and customer service remain unchanged. We have enjoyed outstanding success serving Central Pennsylvania under our current brand for 24 years. As Metro Bank, we are about to become even better.”

Interior and exterior signs on the bank’s 33 store locations will be replaced with Metro Bank signs during the next couple of weeks.

Metro Bank will offer all of the conveniences, products and services for which Commerce Bank/Harrisburg is known including:

• Open Early, Open Late
• Free Checking
• Free Coin Counting
• 24/7 Live Customer Service

Customers can continue to use Commerce Bank/Harrisburg checks, debit cards and ATM cards. New Metro Bank debit and ATM cards will be issued to customers later this year.

The bank, which opened its first location in Camp Hill, Pa., in 1985, pioneered industry-changing conveniences including seven-day branch banking, free personal checking, free coin counting and use of a prototype store design.

Commerce Bank/Harrisburg is changing its name to Metro Bank because its license to use the Commerce Bank brand and red “C” logo, granted by Commerce Bancorp Inc. (now TD Bank), is expiring. Commerce Bank/Harrisburg and its parent company, Pennsylvania Commerce Bancorp, are not affiliates of TD Bank.
