Consolidated Communications (NASDAQ: CNSL), a leading broadband and business communications provider, today announced the Company is building out its fiber network in Des Moines, Iowa. Consolidated is building 17 inner-city fiber miles to connect businesses between northeast Des Moines and southern Ankeny giving companies a competitive edge in having the fastest, high-performance network and advanced, communication solutions. The first phase of the $1.7 million fiber expansion project is due to be completed in summer of this year with new services being available in June.

This fiber build extends Gigabit speeds to more than 1,200 local, businesses through custom-engineered, fiber builds and access to Consolidated’s expansive national fiber network, along with the company’s managed, hosted and cloud services.
