Section 8 – Other Events

Item 8.01    Other Events.

On October 12, 2017, City National Bank (“City”), a subsidiary of City Holding Company (NASDAQ: CHCO) issued a news release announcing that City celebrated the grand opening of a new banking office, its 86 ^th branch, inside King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY on Thursday, October 5, 2017. With the opening of this branch, City expanded its already robust presence in the eastern Kentucky region.

A copy of the news release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1
