Canopy Growth Corp. (CGC, WEED.T) said Wednesday it named Judy Schmeling as chair of its board.
The cannabis, hemp and cannabis device company also said Jim Sabia was appointed in principle as a member of the board. Mr. Sabia will act as an observer to the board as he and Canopy complete standard Health Canada processes associated with the appointment.
Ms. Schmeling has been on the board since November 2018 and is chair of the audit committee. She currently serves on the board of Constellation Brands Inc. (STZ) as well as Casey's General Stores (CASY). She is the former chief operating officer of interactive multichannel retailer HSN Inc.
Mr. Sabia is currently chief marketing officer of Constellation Brands.
