Cathay General Bancorp Declares Dividend of $0.14 Per Share 


LOS ANGELES, July 1  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dunson K. Cheng, Chairman,
President and CEO of Cathay General Bancorp (NASDAQ:CATY), announced that on
July 1, 2004, the Board of Directors of Cathay General Bancorp declared a 14
cents per share cash dividend, payable on July 20, 2004, to stockholders of
record on July 12, 2004.
