Binding Corporate Rules to Deliver High Level of Privacy and Protection for the Handling of all Personal Data

Today CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) announced that it has achieved approval of its Binding Corporate Rules (BCR), a comprehensive data privacy and protection framework for the global transfer of personal data originating from the European Economic Area (EEA).

European standards on data privacy are recognized as one of the highest worldwide and CA’s BCR have been approved by the UK Information Commissioner for use across all of its corporate entities.

CA’s BCR permit the global transfer of personal data and will harmonize the protection of personal data within the company. As a leading provider of security solutions, the achievement builds on CA’s strong commitment to data privacy and security at all levels, and will provide a robust and comprehensive framework for data protection when transferring data to its global corporate entities. This also exemplifies the company’s strong data privacy protection practices for all of the personal information it collects not only from employees, but also from customers, partners and other individuals.

“Being one of the first technology companies to receive approval for our BCR is an incredible achievement and one that demonstrates that CA not only creates secure solutions -- but also implements the highest level of data privacy and protection as a matter of company policy,” states Michael Bisignano, general counsel, CA Technologies.

The European Commission's Data Protection Directive (95/46/EC) only permits the transfer of personal data to non-EEA countries under certain defined standards. CA chose BCR to help CA more effectively manage global data transfers and cement its long standing commitment to privacy compliance.
