OpenTable, a restaurant-booking platform owned by Booking Holdings Inc., said it is waiving restaurants' subscription fees through the year as dining rooms remain closed to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
The unit on Friday also said it is waiving cover fees through Sept. 30, with standard subscription and cover pricing resuming in January 2021.
OpenTable said it will now have health and safety information for diners on its platform.
"Restaurants need help to reopen quickly, safely, and successfully as local restrictions lift," OpenTable Chief Operating Officer Andrea Johnston said. "We're doing our part to help them by waiving fees and updating features with the post-COVID-19 dining experience in mind."
