Well-known bond market strategist Anthony Crescenzi will join Pacific Investment Management Co. as a market strategist, portfolio manager and senior vice president later this month from institutional trading firm Miller Tabak & Co.
Crescenzi, author of three books, was formerly chief bond market strategist at Miller Tabak, which he joined in 1986, following stints at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and Prudential Financial Inc.'s (PRU) securities unit.
"Tony is widely-recognized in our industry as a leading and thoughtful market strategist," Pimco Chief Executive Mohamed A. El-Erian said. "His knowledge, experience, analytical skills and insights will further enhance the resources devoted to delivering to our clients around the world superior investment performance."
Crescenzi will be based in Pimco's Newport Beach, Calif., office and assume the position June 22. He will report to Steve Rodosky, the head of Pimco's Treasury desk.
Crescenzi has a bachelor's degree in finance from CUNY and an MBA from St. John's University. His books include "Investing From the Top Down: A Macro Approach to Capital Markets," published in September, investment book "Stigum's Money Market" and "The Strategic Bond Investor."
Pimco is a unit of German insurer Allianz SE (AZ).
