Avnet’s Mike Buseman to Present At SCOPE Supply Chain Operations Conference

Buseman to discuss the evolution of distribution and logistics within the global supply chain

Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced that Mike Buseman, chief global logistics and operations officer, will present a session, titled “Extending the Value Stream: The Evolution of Distribution and Logistics Partnerships,” at the SCOPE Supply Chain Operations Fall conference. The event will be held at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, August 23-25, 2015.

During his session on Monday, August 24, at 9:00 a.m. PDT, Buseman will focus on extending distribution and logistics partnerships to better serve customers and suppliers. He will discuss what’s driving new opportunities as well as the technologies that are critical to the distribution center. Buseman will highlight the roles that cost to serve and total cost of ownership play in supporting profitable fulfillment. He also will provide attendees with an overview of the main factors to consider when designing a fulfillment network.

“Extending distribution and logistics more broadly throughout the value stream increases organizational effectiveness as global supply chains become more complex,” said Buseman. “During this presentation, we’ll discuss how distribution and logistics have evolved to help address the growing market need for lower costs, and improved service and delivery to help customers improve their time to market and create a competitive advantage for their products.”

In his role at Avnet, Buseman is responsible for global warehousing, semiconductor programming, computer and integration center services, operations, and global trade compliance. He also leads the Avnet logistics organization, which provides the distribution and value-added services that Avnet’s customers rely on for growth planning, supply chain innovation, and global scale and consistency. An accomplished operations and supply chain executive, he has more than 31 years of experience in the electronics industry.
