Amkor Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMKR), a leading provider of semiconductor packaging and test services, today announced it has been recognized as one of 26 companies receiving Intel Corporation’s Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award for its performance in 2015. Intel recognized Amkor for its significant contributions in wafer probe, wafer bump, assembly, SiP, and final testing, which are essential to Intel’s success. Amkor has demonstrated industry-leading commitment across all critical focus areas including: quality, cost, availability, technology, customer service, labor and ethics systems, and environmental sustainability.

“We are honored to receive Intel's Preferred Quality Supplier Award for the third consecutive year,” said John Stone, Amkor's executive vice president, worldwide sales and marketing. “As a strategic Intel supplier, we are committed to providing advanced packaging and test technology and turnkey solutions that enable Intel’s portfolio of smart connected products. This award reflects the close collaboration between our companies and our ability to meet Intel's high standards.”

"Intel congratulates Amkor on winning the 2015 Preferred Quality Supplier Award in recognition of solid systems and processes to continuously improve in the areas of quality, cost initiatives, technology alignment, delivery, environmental, social and governance. Your achievements have contributed to Intel’s success and we applaud your excellent performance and customer focus. We look forward to your continued support," said Armin Sarstedt, vice president and director of foundry and OSAT management in the Technology and Manufacturing Group at Intel.

The PQS award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) program that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, technology, environmental, social and governance goals. Suppliers must also achieve 80 percent or greater on a challenging improvement plan and demonstrate solid quality and business systems. Additional information about the SCQI program is available at http://intel.com/go/quality.

A celebration to honor PQS award winners was held in Santa Clara, California, themed “Delivering the Future Together”, which illustrates the contributions this supplier has made in 2015. In addition, there was an announcement on Intel’s website at https://newsroom.intel.com/.
