Amgen Inc. lowered its per-share profit projection for the year and said it now expects share buybacks for the year at the high end of its $3 billion to $5 billion range.
Amgen now expects $8.84 to $9.90 a share in profit, down from its earlier view of $9.11 to $10.71 a share.
It maintained its view of $16 to $17 a share on an adjusted basis and $25.8 billion to $26.6 billion in revenue.
It still expects to spend about $900 million in capital projects.
