Automatic Data Processing's board has raised the payroll processor's quarterly dividend by 12%, to $1.40 from $1.25.
The new payout, equal to $5.60 a year, represents an annual yield of about 2.52% based on Tuesday's closing price of $222.25, up from 2.25%.
The Roseland, N.J., company on Wednesday said the increased dividend is payable Jan. 1 to shareholders of record Dec. 8.
