Adobe Inc. on Thursday said it agreed to acquire Frame.io in a deal valued at $1.275 billion.
Adobe said Frame.io, a cloud-based video collaboration platform, "streamlines the video production process by enabling video editors and key project stakeholders to seamlessly collaborate using cloud-first workflows."
At the close of the deal, which is expected during Adobe's fiscal fourth quarter, Frame.io co-founder and chief executive Emery Wells and co-founder John Traver will join Adobe, the company said.
"The combination of Adobe's industry-leading creative software, including Premiere Pro and After Effects video editing products, and Frame.io's review and approval functionality, will deliver a collaboration platform that powers the video editing process," Adobe said.
