The New Zealand dollar declined sharply against most major rivals during New York afternoon deals on Monday. Extending previous session's downtrend, the kiwi plunged further against the euro and the US dollar in New York afternoon trading. At 3:00 pm ET, the kiwi dropped to new multi-day lows of 0.7047 against the greenback and 2.0298 versus the euro, compared to last Friday's closing values of 0.7117 and 2.0176, respectively.
Against the Australian dollar, the NZ dollar also traded lower in afternoon session, after hitting a high of 1.2465 at about 12:00 pm ET. The kiwi fell to 1.2524 versus the Aussie as of 3:00 pm ET from last week's New York session close of 1.2533.
