At about 1:20 pm ET, the greenback-rand pair touched 7.4950, which may be compared to yesterday's closing value of 7.5812. This set a 1-month low for the US currency. The dollar is presently trading at 7.5185 versus the South African unit. The dollar has been in a downward channel against the rand for the past 11 days.
