After a choppy trading in early European session, the US dollar edged up against its South African counterpart in late European deals on Friday. The greenback advanced to 6.8336 versus the rand by about 6:45 am ET, which may be compared to yesterday's closing value of 6.7796. This set a 2-day high for the US currency. On the upside, 6.8687 is seen as the next target level for the dollar.
