The Russian rouble strengthened against the U.S. dollar in the late Asian session on Friday, as oil prices rose and after the European Central Bank detailed its bond-buying program.
Against the greenback, the rouble rose to nearly a 2-month high of 58.90 from an early low of 61.13. At yesterday's close, the rouble was trading at 60.74 against the greenback. If the rouble extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around the 53.17 area.
