From May 2019 to May 2024
The Labor Department's nonfarm payrolls data for September will be issued at 8.30 am ET Friday. The economists are looking for non-farm payrolls consensus of 80,000, while it grew by 156,000 in the prior month. Unemployment rate is expected to be unchanged at 4.4 percent.
Ahead of the data, the greenback traded mixed against its major rivals. While the greenback held steady against the yen and the euro, it rose against the franc. Against the pound, it weakened.
The greenback was worth 112.96 against the yen, 1.1711 against the euro, 1.3076 against the pound and 0.9770 against the franc as of 8:25 am ET.
