As expected, the Bank of England retained key rate unchanged at 0.50 percent and quantitative easing at GBP 375 billion. Following the announcement, the pound eased from its early highs against its major rivals.
The pound was valued at 1.4828 against the greenback, 183.66 against the yen, 0.7369 against the euro and 1.4849 against the franc around 7:04 am ET.
