As expected, the Bank of England kept its key rate unchanged at 0.75 percent and quantitative easing at GBP 435 billion. Following the decision, the pound advanced against its major rivals.
The pound was trading at 145.66 against the yen, 1.2667 against the franc, 1.3063 against the greenback and 0.8904 against the euro around 7:02 am ET.
