At 4:30 am ET Friday, U.K. CIPS/Markit manufacturing PMI for April is due. The index is expected to rise to 54.6 in April from 54.4 in March.

Ahead of the data, the Pound showed mixed trading against its major rivals. While the Pound rose against the U.S. dollar, the Swiss franc and the Yen, it held steady against the Euro.

As of 4:25 am ET, the Pound was trading at 0.7314 against the Euro, 1.4334 against the Swiss franc, 1.5383 against the U.S. dollar and 184.24 against the Yen.
