The British pound strengthened against the other major currencies in the early European session on Friday.
The pound rose to nearly a 2-week high of 1.4980 against the U.S. dollar, from an early low of 1.4915.
Moving away from an early near 2-week low of 1.4264 against the Swiss franc, the pound advanced to 1.4325.
Against the yen and the euro, the pound edged up to 177.98 and 0.7194 from early lows of 177.43 and 0.7219, respectively.
If the pound extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.52 against the greenback, 1.46 against the franc, 179.50 against the yen and 0.71 against the euro.
