The British pound strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Tuesday.
The pound rose to 5-day highs of 1.5106 against the U.S. dollar and 179.02 against the yen, from yesterdays closing quotes of 1.5056 and 178.58, respectively.
Against the euro, the pound edged up to 0.7443 from an early low of 0.7457.
The pound, which ended yesterday's deals at 1.3610 against the Swiss franc edged up to 1.3638.
If the pound extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 0.73 against the euro, 1.53 against the greenback, 1.56 against the Swiss franc and 181.18 against the yen.
