The U.S. dollar weakened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Wednesday.
The U.S. dollar fell to nearly a 5-week low of 0.7275 against the Australian dollar, a 9-day low of 122.27 against the yen and a 5-day low of 1.0676 against the euro, from yesterday's closing quotes of 0.7253, 122.52 and 1.0642, respectively.
Against the pound and the Swiss franc, the greenback dropped to 1.5107 and 1.0153 from yesterday's closing quotes of 1.5076 and 1.0164, respectively.
Against the New Zealand and the Canadian dollars, the greenback slipped to 5-day lows of 0.6579 and 1.3284 from yesterday's closing quotes of 0.6554 and 1.3302, respectively.
If the greenback extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around 0.73 against the aussie, 121.00 against the yen, 1.08 against the euro, 1.53 against the pound, 1.00 against the franc, 0.67 against the kiwi and 1.31 against the loonie.
