Nordic stocks gained Wednesday, with the OMX Nordic 40 Index rising 0.8%.

Vimian Group AB was the biggest leader during the session, increasing 7.6%, and Filo Corp. increased 5.8%. Vitrolife AB rounded out the top three leaders on Wednesday, with shares increasing 5.6%.

Frontline PLC posted the largest decline, dropping 4.7%, followed by Kindred Group PLC SDR shares, which dropped 4.2%. Shares of Hafnia Ltd. dropped 3.5%.

Elsewhere in Europe, indexes were mixed, with the STOXX Europe 600 Index rising 0.5% and the FTSE 100 Index declining 0.4% from the previous close.

Stock indexes in Asia were down, with Japan's NIKKEI 225 Index falling 0.3% and China's Shanghai Composite Index falling 0.6%.

In commodities news, Brent crude oil futures were up 1.3%, and gold futures were up 0.2%. Bitcoin was down 0.5% to $37,544.

On the currency front, the WSJ Dollar Index rose 0.1% to 97.52.

Against the euro, the Icelandic krona was up 0.2%, the U.S. dollar was up 0.2%, the Danish krone was flat, the Norwegian krone was down 0.1%, and the Swedish krona was down 0.2%.
