                            Resignation of Director


The Board of Sportingbet Plc announces that Mr Alfred Francis Ballester has
today tendered his resignation as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with
effect from the Company's AGM to be held next month on Thursday 23rd October
2003.  The Board wishes to thank Mr Ballester for his help and guidance over the
past two years.

In addition, the Board has decided that, in light of the very substantial growth
the Company has undergone since flotation, a formal review of the Board's
composition will shortly be undertaken in order to ensure its composition
reflects the forthcoming needs of the Sportingbet Group.
